Simon Says Stamp All the Joy Blog Hop: Day 2

Simon Says Stamp All the Joy Blog Hop: Day 2

Hello crafty friends!! Today I’m joining Simon Says Stamp in celebrating their All the Joy Release!! Be sure to check out the All the Joy release gallery to see all the inspiration from this release in one place!

Let’s dive right in a take a look at the card I created for today’s blog hop. This card features the beautiful Burst Snowflakes Embossing Folder & Die as well as the All the Joy Die and Christmas Greetings Sentiment Strips.

To create this card I first ink-blended an 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ panel of white cardstock in Chipped Sapphire, Prize Ribbon, Mermaid Lagoon and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxides. I then dry embossed the panel with the Burst Snowflakes Embossing Folder. Next, I lightly sanded the raised areas of the panel and then rubbed Hero Arts Gold Wax over. I then adhered the panel to the front of an A2 top-folding white card base.

Next, die cut the All the Joy Die out of gold and white cardstocks. I then adhered the layers together and then adhered to the card front with foam adhesive.

Lastly, I finished the card by adhering a sentiment strip from the Christmas Greetings Sentiment Strips under the die cut sentiment with foam adhesive.

My second card features the Autumn Frame Stencils, Not Quite a Dot Cling Stamp and the All the Joy Die.

To create this card I first stamped a tan 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ panel with the Not Quite a Dot Cling Stamp in Old Paper to create subtle background. I then ink-blended over the panel with the Autumn Frame Stencils and several Distress Oxides (Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries, Fossilized Amber, Dried Marigold, Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn and Ground Espresso).

Once I finished ink-blending the leaves I then adhered the panel onto the front of an A2 top-folding white card base. I then added a white highlight to all the images with a gel pen. Next, I added a drop shadow to images with a copic marker.

I then die the All the Joy sentiment out of white and brown cardstock and then adhered the layers together. Lastly I finished the card by adhering the sentiment to the card front with foam adhesive.

  1. Love the sparkle for the holiday and the fall-themed card reminds me that we’re still in the fall season (lol…) Thank you for your inspiration 💕

  2. I absolutely love your cards!!! The color combinations are fabulous! The blue and gold are stunning and the gold looks like fireworks. Also love the fall card. It has such a soft glow about it. The Autumn colors you chose are wonderful. Awesome!! Thank you Channin.

  3. Beautiful cards! I love the colors and sparkle on the first one, and the lovely fall design on the second card!

  4. I loved how you showed off the versatility of that sentiment on your cards and the designs were so pretty. TFS

  5. Your ink blending is beautiful. I think that’s probably my favorite way to use an embossing folder. Your leaf card is amazing too. love the white details you added.

  6. Two such different cards and I really like both. The blues are so beautiful (and well blended) along with the gold. The colors you chose for the fall stencil go so well together. Thank you.

  7. Very nice cards! My favorite is the gorgeous blue and gold one. The color blending is so pretty with the gold accents. Blue is my favorite color.

  8. Such beautiful cards. Your bg is blended beautifully and you’ve inspired me to get out my gold wax and actually use it! Your addition of the drop shadow on the foliage card is the perfect touch. I need to learn to do that.

  9. The Joy word die set is really lovely and looks fabulous on both cards. The two cards are quite different with the bolder colours of the first and golden details, elegant and fabulous, but I also adore the rustic tones of the second more muted palette, two such different and yet equally delish creations xoxo

  10. Both cards so pretty! I love the addition of the white gel pen highlights along with the drop shadow – extra details that really pay off!

  11. Gorgeous cards! I love the sweet delicate look you’ve achieved! It’s wonderful to see the soft Autumn leaves included in the set! Using them for other occasions is super! Thanks so much for sharing!! 🙂

  12. I am so in love with this fall card. You did an excellent job on it, beautiful ink blending, highlighting and shadowing.
