My card for today’s hop features products from the Premium kit, namely the Butterfly Fancy Dies, but the rest of the card uses products from both the premium and classic kit.

To create this card I first die cut an A2 panel of Deluxe Smooth cardstock with the Butterfly Window Fancy Die. I then ink blended over the diecut frame with the Color Layering Stencils. I started with the first stencil, stencil “a”, and ink blended the butterflies lightly with Taffy, Lemon Drop, Pool Party and Grape Slush Reactive Inks. I then ink blended over stencil “b” (detail layer for the butterflies) with INTENS-ified Black Ink. I didn’t want to add color to the florals so I didn’t use stencils “c” or “d”.

Next, I trimmed down a sheet of Arctic cardstock to create an A2 panel. I then adhered the panel to the front of an A2 top-folding white card base. I then adhered my butterfly panel to the card front with foam adhesive. Next I stamped a sentiment onto the card front in INTENS-ified Black Ink.

I then die cut three butterflies out of white cardstock with the Butterfly Fancy Dies. I then ink blended over the butterflies with the same inks I used with stencil “a”. Next, I colored the butterfly bodies with a black marker and then finished the card by adhering the butterflies to the card front with foam adhesive.

My last card features a few of the add-on products from this release, the Abstract Butterfly Wing Background and the Beautiful Butterflies Bundle.

To create this card I first ink blended over a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Deluxe Smooth cardstock with Thistle, Fog + Blue Raspberry, Key Lime Fizz, Creamsicle and Fruit Punch. I then dried the panel thoroughly with my heat gun. Next, I stamped the panel with the Abstract Butterfly Wing Background in Embossing & Watermark Ink. I then pour clear embossing powder over the panel and then heat set. Next I ink blended over the panel with Pitch Black Ink. The heat embossed wing resists the black ink allowing the wing image to remain colorful. I then trimmed the panel down to an A2 panel and then glued to the front of an A2 top-folding white card base.

Next, I stamped a butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set onto a scrap of Deluxe Smooth cardstock. I then ink blended over the butterfly with the same inks I used for the background. Next, I die cut the butterfly with the matching die. I then inked the die cut up with Embossing & Watermark Ink and then heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next, just to help the butterfly match the background better, I then ink blended over the butterfly with Pitch Black Ink. Even though the entire butterfly is heat-embossed, the Pitch Black Ink does stain the clear heat-embossing, so by also ink-blending over the butterfly diecut it will now better match the background.

Next, I adhered the butterfly to the card front with foam adhesive. I then stamped and silver heat embossed a sentiment onto white cardstock. I then trimmed the sentiment down to a strip and then ink blended over the strip with Pitch Black Ink. Lastly I finished the card by adhering the sentiment to the card front with foam adhesive.
