Waffle Flower Crafts June Release Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hello all!! Welcome to the Waffle Flower June Release Blog Hop! I’m happy to be hopping with the folks from Waffle Flower to show you all the fun new stuff awaiting you on the Waffle Flower website! Be sure to check out each stop in today’s blog hop for fun, inspiration, and chances to win some of these new release goodies! 

My card features the stunning new Layered Orchid Die Set. The dies add a ton of texture and detail to the flowers but I decided to take it one step further and used copic markers to add shading and patterns to make my flowers even more realistic.

To create this card I die cut the petals out of white, yellow and orange cardstock. I then colored over the yellow and orange petals with a copic marker only slightly darker than the paper to create a gradation over the petals. I then colored the large white petals with a light blue copic to add some depth. Next, I added small dots with a red over all the white petals. I then adhered the yellow and orange petals together and the white petals layers together.

Next, I die cut the flower centers out of dark pink and lime green cardstock. I also colored these layers with a tone-on-tone copic to add depth. I then layers the centers together and then adhered them to the flowers with foam adhesive. With my flowers finished I moved onto the leaves and stems. I first die the leaves out of green cardstock and then copic colored them to add shading. Next the stems out of a lighter green cardstock and then used a copic marker to add definition to the buds.

I then created the background by die cutting an A2 panel of white cardstock with the Geometric Cover Die. I then adhered the panel to the front of an A2 top-folding white card base. Next, I die cut white cardstock with the largest die from the Ticket Frames Die Set. I then adhered the negative from the frame onto the card front. Next, I adhered my flowers and then finished the card with a sentiment created with the Label Maker Sentiment Combo.
