Hello crafty friends!! The April My Monthly Hero Kit now available!! This fun and floral April kit is a celebration of spring as well as the amazing people in all of our lives. It features a gorgeous cling background with bees and flowers. Three layering stencils make the coloring process easy; simply pair them with the inks and blending brush included in the kit, and you’ll quickly have cards in fresh spring colors. Combine the “amazing” word die with the mix and match messages in the stamp set for expressing thanks, celebrating birthdays, sending Mother’s Day greetings and more. There’s also dies included for highlighting select images from the background, and the kit is rounded out with enamel embellishments which complement the ink colors perfectly.

My first card features almost every product included in this kit! When it all just works together so well its hard not to use it all.

To create this card I first stamped the cling stamp in INTENS-ifed Black Ink onto Dove White cardstock. I then colored the images in using the layering stencils and several Reactive Inks. I used Taffy and Creamsicle for the larger flowers and Thistle and Purple Galaxy for the smaller flowers. I also used Key Lime Fizz and Blue Raspberry for the leaves. For the bee, however, I copic colored it with a couple yellows and a light blue for the wings. I then finished the images by adding a highlight with a white gel pen.

Once I had finished coloring the images I then die cut the ones out that had a matching die out and fussy cut the rest. Next, I die cut three “amazing’s” out of Dove White cardstock and one mat layer out of vellum. I then stacked and adhered the “amazing’s” together, sandwiching the vellum mat between two white cardstock layers.

Next, I stamped and white heat-embossed sub-sentiments onto an A2 top-folding Peony card base. I then adhered the images and the “amazing” with liquid glue and foam adhesive. Lastly I finished the card by adhering a couple clear sequins.

My second card features one of the add-on stamps from this release, the Flowers and Swirls Bold Prints.

To create this card I first ink swiped over the front an A2 top-folding white card base with several Reactive Inks. I used Lemon Drop, Pool Party, Taffy, Grape Slush, and Blue Hawaii Reactive Ink CUBES and gently swiped the ink pad over the card front to create this stripy, somewhat plaid-like background.

When I finished with the Reactive Inks, I then stamped the Flowers and Swirls Bold Prints over the card front in INTENS-ified Black Ink. I then made a stacked “amazing” out of black cardstock and vellum using the word dies from the April My Monthly Hero Kit and adhered it to the card front.

Lastly I finished the card by stamping, white heat-embossing, and fussy cutting sub-sentiments, then adhering them to the card front with foam adhesive.

  2. I love this first card especially-so vibrant. I always forget about vellum, but using it on both cards is just the right touch.

  3. Amazing cards Channin. I love your wonderful use of colour on the second card and the pretty feminine look of the first. Thanks so much for the great inspiration. Take care! 🙂

  4. Thank you for sharing these beautiful cards and the inspiration they bring! They are beautiful, but I think I appreciate your second card as U had looked at the bold print and couldn’t think of something to make with it. You made magic!

  5. I love, love, love your coloring on the first card, and that fantastic background idea on the second card!
