Waffle Flower Crafts Sixth Birthday Celebration and Blog Hop

Hello friends! Today I’m joining Waffle Flower Crafts in celebrating their 6th birthday!! Congratulations to Waffle Flower!! I feel so blessed to have been apart of this incredible company for several years and am excited to share my top six favorite Waffle Flower products with you!

Waffle-Flower-Year-6-Hop-Badge

I first have to say that picking my top six was so so SO difficult!! Waffle Flower has been a fountain of truly unique and beautiful designs over these past six years and to narrow my favorites down to just six was actually painful!! But without further ado here they are.

First up is the Merry Wreath set illustrated by Cassie Loizeaux! I love this sweet set! First of all, the set includes a layered wreath that is absolutely gorgeous! But the set also includes some darling critters that ares solid stamps so you don’t have to color them!!

WFC284_Merry_Wreath_Combo_1-2_1080x

Even this a winter/Christmas set but with some simple color changes and slight tweaking to the scarf, I was able to create a spring/Easter card with this set.

WFC202004_Top6MerryWreath_Channin1

To create this card, I first stamp the fox in a couple of Pinkfresh inks (Clementine & Persimmon). I then die cut the fox out with the matching dies and then colored the scarf with copics (RV21, RV23, R22) to turn it into a bow. Next, I stamped the wreath in Fresh Pear for the main layer for the leaves and then I stamped the detail layer for the leaves in Doe to make this layer look like branches. I then didn’t stamp the berry layer but instead colored all the berry openings with several copics (RV21, YR02, Y02, B01 & V04). Then die cut the wreath out with the matching dies.

Next, I stamped a the bow and ladder from the set in Sky Blue and Summer Shower and then die cut them with the matching dies as well. Next, I die cut three eggs with the Spring Basket Die set and then copic (YR00 + YR02, Y00 + Y02, V01 + V04) colored them.

I then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Rejoice Rabbit Stamp Set onto an 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 panel of light pink cardstock. Next, I adhered the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base and then finished the card by adhering all the die cuts with foam tape.

My next pick is the first enveloper set by Helen Dardik, Enveloper Hello!

WFC_271089_Enveloper_Hello_089681a1-06bb-4866-b345-81ca20f839d6_1080x

I love Helen’s illustration style, its bold and graphic yet still whimsical and fun!! Plus she is an incredible human being as well!!

WFC-271089-3

For this simple monochrome card, I first stamped the some images from the set in Salty Ocean Distress Ink onto watercolor paper and then with a damp brush painted over the ink to activate the ink and to color in the images.

This also a 5″ x 7″ card, which I used to make in my early card-making.

Next up is the stunning Bouquet Builder 6 set illustrated by Karla Jodoin.

WFC291_Bouquet_Builder_6_Combo_1_1080x

One of my favorite coloring techniques is no-line watercoloring with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. So of course I had to color these beautiful blooms in this manner as well.

WFC201912-271291_Bouquet_Builder_6_Stamps-Channin._1_1080x

I first stamped several flowers from the Bouquet Builder 6 Stamp Set in Antique Linen Distress Ink onto Bristol paper. I then watercolored the florals in with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Once colored, I die cut all the images out with the matching dies. Next, I ink blended a background with distress oxides (Old Paper, Lucky Clover, Peacock Feathers, and Black Soot) on an A2 panel of white cardstock.

wfc201912-271291-bouquet-builder-6-stamps-channin.-2-1

When I finished my background, I then a gold heat embossed sentiment from the Sweet Sentiments Stamp Set. I then adhered the background onto and A2 top-folding card base and then adhered the flowers with foam squares. I then finished the card by adhering some iridescent sequins.

I also made a video for this card and you can find that here.

Next up is the super fun Gym Rat Combo Set illustrated by the talented Liz Mytinger!!

WFC186_Gym_Rat_Combo_1080x

I adore this set!! These cute little hamsters in their workout gear makes me chuckle every time I see them!

WFC201806_gym_rat_channin_1080x

I love this set so much that I created a bunch of cards. First is this the super 80s inspired trio. I did some simple watercoloring with Distress Inks and created the tone-on-tone backgrounds with some stamps from the set.

WFC201806_271186_gym_rat_1080x

Next, is this fun spinner shaker card! You can learn all the details on this card here.

IMG_8786_1080x

And last is this Richard Simmons inspired card in which I did a little tweaking to one of the hamsters. You can check out the video I did on this card here.

My next top six pick is the Pretty Wings Combo by Flora Waycott.

WFC110_Pretty_Wings_Combo_1080x

This is such a gorgeous layering stamp set. I am always a sucker for butterflies but layering butterflies, well I’m all in!!

img_5034

I had fun creating these faux laser cut cards with this set and you can check out the video for these cards here.

And my last pick for my top six is Fresh Rainbow by JJ Bolton.

WFC300_Fresh_Rainbow_Combo_1_1080x

I love everything that JJ designs!! Her designs are always so clean, graphic and clever!! I could have easily filled my top six with her designs!!

IMG_4609

I created two versions of this card. The two cards are basically the same except for the sentiment and the shaker contents.

I also made a video for these cards, you can check that out here.

First I die cut 3 A2 panels of white cardstock and a panel of white craft foam with the Fresh Rainbow Panel Die. I then altered craft foam panel and one of the cardstock panels to remove the center sentiment rectangle to allow the shaker contents to flow from one side of the rainbow to the other.

WFC202001-FreshRainbowCombo-Channin 1

Next, I ink blended the upper right and lower left negatives from one of the diecut panels with Tumbled Glass distress ink and a mask I created with the Scenery Die to create a cloudy sky. Next, I ink blended all the negatives for the rainbow with several distress inks and oxides. Once all the negatives were ink blended I then adhered one of the unaltered panels onto an A2 top-folding card base. I then inlaid the diecuts.

IMG_4611 copy

Next, I created the shaker wells by first adhering the craft foam panel and then adding the altered cardstock panel onto.

Next I stamped my sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then clear heat embossed onto the last Fresh Rainbow Panel. I then adhered the panel onto a panel of acetate.

Next, I applied antistatic powder over my shaker wells to remove any excess adhesive and then filled my wells with either seed beads or sprinkles. After I filled the wells I then adhered the top panel over to sealed the whole thing shut.

And that’s it! I hope you enjoyed my cards. Thank you so much for stopping by!
