Waffle Flower Crafts March 2023 Release & Blog Hop

Hello friends!! It’s release day at Waffle Flower Crafts!! The March release is full of so many incredible new products, perfect for those beloved dads and dogs in our lives.

My card today features a few of the new products focused on fathers specifically the Baseball Dad Die Set and the #1 Dad Sentiments Stamp Set.

To create this card I first created the three focal points with the Baseball Dad Die Set. I started with the baseball by die-cutting the ball out of white cardstock and the stitching out of red. I then ink blended the baseball with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink around the edges and the stitching with Aged Mahogany. I then adhered the stitching to the ball and then die cut the ball again to remove the overhang of the stitching.

Next, I die cut the bat out of light tan cardstock and the handle out of brown. I then swiped the bat with Tea Dye Distress Ink to create a woodgrain and then ink blended the side of the bat with Brushed Corduroy. Next, I emphasized the details in the handle with copic markers (E35, E77, E77, E49). I then adhered the handle to the bat and set aside.

For the the baseball cap, I die cut the layers/sections of the cap out of three different shades of blue cardstock. I then ink blended over the layers/sections with Distress Inks (Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire & Black Soot) to add depth. I then adhered the sections to the base and then set aside.

Next, I stamped and white heat-embossed a sentiment from the #1 Dad Sentiments Stamp Set onto black cardstock. I then trimmed the sentiment down to a strip and then set aside.

Next, I ink-blended over the front of an A2 top-folding Kraft card base with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I then pressed the ink pad onto some acetate, added water to the ink and then splattered the edges with the watered-down ink with a paint brush. I then finished the card by adhering the three die cuts and sentiment to the card front with foam adhesive.

  1. I love your manly card!!!! And I would like to make a similar one for my grandson—baseball player extraordinaire!

  2. Such a great Father’s Day card! I always tend to lean towards bright colors but the brown card base is perfect!

  3. Love that card. We’re a “baseball family” so this would be perfect for so many family members!

  4. Great job w/ the cap… three different shades of blue? No wonder it appears to have dimension to it! Great job… You always give me ideas, Channin!
