Hero Arts February My Monthly Hero Kit Countdown

Hello friends!! It’s countdown time!! The February My Monthly Kit is coming Monday (2/6) and it’s so so fantastic!! In fact it’s one of my absolute favorites.

Also this month with this February kit Hero Arts is rolling out their new Premium kit option!! The premium kit will include everything in the regular monthly kit but will also include several additional elements! My card today however ONLY features products included in the standard kit.

To create this card I first die cut an A2 panel of Delux White cardstock with the Butterfly Window fancy die included in the kit. Then with the layering stencils, I ink blended over the butterflies and flowers with several inks. For stencil “a” I used Pool Party, Splash, and Blue Raspberry Reactive Inks. For stencil “b” I used Purple Galaxy and Pitch Black inks. For stencil “c” I used Spicey Mustard and a little Fawn to create a gradation. Then for the final stencil I used Fawn.

Next, I drew details over the butterfly wings with a copic multiliner. I then also added details to the flowers with a few copic markers (Y21, YR23 & E35).

Next, I trimmed down a sheet of Mustard cardstock to create an A2 panel. I then ink blended around the sides of the panel with fawn ink. I then stamped a sentiment from the included stamp set in Pitch Black ink.

Next, I pressed some Root Beer Reactive Ink onto a piece of acetate and added some water to the ink. I then splattered the panel with watered down ink. Next, I placed some Gold Hero Wax onto the acetate, mixed it with water and then splattered the panel to create gold speckles.

Once the panel had dried I then adhered it to the front of an A2 top-fold white card base. I then finished the card by adhering the butterfly panel with foam adhesive.
