Hero Arts August 2022 My Monthly Hero Countdown

Hero Arts August 2022 My Monthly Hero Countdown

Hello friends and welcome to day two of the August My Monthly Hero Countdown. I absolutely adore this month’s kit, being a desert native I feel like this kit was made for me!

My card today features more of the additional images from the kit, namely the cute cacti.

To create this card I first ink blended the cacti on white cardstock using the stencils from the kit. I used several combos of ink to create a but of different cacti (Key Lime Fizz + Moss, Green Apple + Pine, Pool Party + Blue Raspberry, Thistle + Grape Slush + Taffy). After I ink blended all the cacti I then die cut them out with the matching dies.

Next, I ink blended a small panel with several inks (Grape Slush, Taffy, Creamsicle, and Pool Party) to create a sky. I the used the layering stencils to added details to the sky with a more heavy handed blending of Grape Slush and Taffy. Next, I die cut a small circle using the Infinity Circles Nesting Dies out of Canary cardstock. I then ink blended the circle with a little Creamsicle and then adhered it to the card front.

Next I ripped a panel of Sand cardstock to make it look like a mountain and then I adhered the cacti and the mountian to the card front with liquid and foam adhesive. Lastly, I finished the card by stamping and white heat-embossing a sentiment from the included stamp set onto black cardstock and then adhering it the card front.

I hope you enjoyed my card. Thank you so much for stopping by!

  1. I believe there is a problem with the link…when clicking on “Read more Here’ or something to that effect, I just get Hello friends and welcome to day two of the August My Monthly Hero Countdown” with no picture or tutorial…Love your card, hope more is coming soon! 🙂

  2. Lovely card–the colors you used are gorgeous and of course as a fellow desert dweller it makes me feel right at home!

  3. I like how you haven’t used the background hills and emphasized the sky. The colours are very nice too!

  4. Came back due to issue with l8nk yesterday. The sky colors and use of the Sand cardstock make for a wonderful SW landscape scene.
