Hero Arts September My Monthly Hero Release Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hello friends!! It’s September and time for a new My Monthly Hero Kit release!! This month’s kit is a beauty!!

The sunflowers are gorgeous and so easy to color thanks to the amazing layering stencils!! In addition to the flowers and stencils there are also two fabulous word dies and even 4 ink cubes!

Kit Contents:

  • 4″ x 6″ Clear Stamp Set
  • Coordinating Frame Cut
  • 2 Fancy Word Dies
  • 5 Color Layering Stencils
  • 1 Ink Blending Brush
  • 4 Ink Cubes (Butter Bar, Caramel, Root Beer, Key Lime Fizz)

Kit Value: $87.00

Kit Price: $34.99

Even though I love the layering stencils I decided to show you guys a something a little different and chose to watercolor the sunflowers instead.

To create this card I first stamped and black heat-embossed the sunflowers on Bristol smooth cardstock. I then watercolored the flowers with several Tombow Dual Brush Pens.

After I watercolored the flowers I then die cut them using the matching dies. I then stamped the flowers several times over the front of an A2 top-folding white card base in Soft Olive ink.

I then stamped and black heat-embossed a sentiment from included set. Lastly, I finished the card by adhering the flowers to the card front with foam adhesive and then trimming off the overhang.

My next card features a couple add-ons, the Fall Leaves Stencil, the Autumn Leaves Fancy Dies, and the Hello Autumn Stamp Set.

To create this card I first ink blended over the front of an A2 top-folding Sand card base with Fall Leaves Stencil in Soft Brown ink. After I ink blended the in the Soft Brown I then shifted the stencil to off-set the leaves and then ink blended over the stencil with several inks (Creamsicle, Fruit Punch, Berry Smoothie, Key Lime Fizz and Moss).

Next, I die cut the leaves and acorn out of Sand cardstock using the Autumn Leaves Fancy Die. I then adhered the leaves to the card front with foam adhesive.

Lastly, I finished the card by stamping a sentiment from the Hello Autumn Stamp Set in Cup O’ Joe ink onto sand cardstock, fussy cut it out and adhered it to the card front with foam adhesive.

  1. I love the card you made with the fall leaves stencil and dies — I love autumn and the simplicity of that card really speaks to me!

  2. Hi, Channin – Your colorful bouquet of sunflowers is a stunner! SO, so pretty! I also love that card on craft / desert storm paper with the swirl of leaves and the beautiful acorn + oak leaf cluster. What a beautiful design! You’re so stinkin’ talented!!
