Hero Arts November My Monthly Hero Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hero Arts November My Monthly Hero Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hello friends!! It’s release day!! Today over at Hero Arts the new My Monthly Hero Kit is now available!! This month’s kit is so much fun!! I had a blast playing with the brilliant masking dies and made two holiday cards!

To create these cards I first stamped the Christmas tree from the set in Green Apple ink onto two white top-folding card bases. I then colored in the star and ornaments and also added some shading to the boughs with copic markers.

Once I finished coloring the images I then die cut several masks out of contact paper and then placed them over the stamped trees. Next, I either stamped the background stamp or ink blended the background with Splash, Blue Hawaii, and INTENS-ified Black Ink.

When I finished the backgrounds I then splattered them with white paint. Once the paint had dried I then removed the masks.

Next, I stamped sentiments from the Holiday Blessings Stamp Set in either INTENS-ified Black Ink or in Embossing & Watermark Ink and then white heat embossed.

  1. Beautiful cards — I love the one with the multiple trees! I can see how the masking dies really make a difference with that technique so you can blend the background rather than color it in!

  2. I really need to quit looking at these each month- my bank account can’t take much more!!! These are so adorable and now I have to but the set! Thank you for sharing (I think)!

  3. Topsy turvy trees for a topsy turvy 2020. Kind of a wizard of oz tornado of lovely trees. The masking dies are genius. I’ve always noticed the white edges and thought that’s that. Love this.

  4. Your cards are gorgeous and I think those new masking dies are just brilliant! I hope more companies will follow their lead and develop them.

  5. I love your beautiful cards!! The masking dies sure do make it simple to do great backgrounds! The white splatter for snow was the perfect touch! thanks!
