Pinkfresh Studio & My Sweet Petunia Blog Hop

Hello friends!! Today I’m participating in a fun collaborative blog hop between Pinkfresh Studio and My Sweet Petunia!!!

For today’s hop I created a card with one of my favorites MISTI stamping techniques, partial inking! I combined this technique with a rainbow of Pinkfresh Studio inks and the gorgeous Pop Out: Sunburst and the Hugs and Good Vibes Stamp Sets.

To create this card I first positioned the Pop Out: Sunburst stamp in my MISTI. I then started at the upper left corner and popped out the two sections adjacent to my chosen ray. I then inked up the ray up with Sparkling Rose ink, stamped, and then partially inked it up at upper edge with Bubble Gum and stamped it again.

This creates a gradation on the ray because Bubble Gum is a slightly darker shade than Sparkling Rose. I then popped my next ray back in, then removed the two rays adjacent to it, and then stamped it in Coral Reef and Passion Fruit. I repeated this process till I had stamped the entire sunburst in a rainbow of colors (Apricot + Clementine, Lemon Drop + Sweet Mustard, Key Lime + Grassy Knoll, Meadow + Mermaid Cove, Sky Blue + Summer Shower, Seaside + Blue Jay).

Once I finished the sunburst, I then stamped my sentiment from the Hug and Good Vibes Stamp Set. I positioned the sentiment over the burst and then stamped it in Metropolis. After I stamped it, I repositioned the stamped in my MISTI to be slightly off-set from the first and then stamped it in Detail Black Ink. When I finished the sentiment I the trimmed my panel down to 4 1/8″ x 5 1/4″ and then adhered it onto a panel of craft foam. I then finished the card by adhering the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base.

I hope you enjoyed my card! Be sure to check out the rest of the hop and leave a comment along the way for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate!!
