Waffle Flower Crafts Stitchables Release and Blog Hop

Hello friends!! Today Waffle Flower Crafts is having an epic release!! Today Waffle Flower releases a new line of stitching dies called Stitchables!!

2008-Blog-Hog-Badge

I had so much fun playing with these new dies!! I have actually cross-stitched before but it was only once and I was very young. It was fun discovering this new craft and combining it with my other love, cardmaking!

The first two cards I’m sharing features the Stitchable Pinking Heart and Pinking Circle Dies.

For these two cards I chose to use a rainbow of threads and I actually sort of freehanded these designs.

The heart was pretty easy. I knew I wanted to stitch a diagonally rainbow, so I simply started with pink, stitched two diagonal rows and then moved onto the next color of my rainbow.

I finished the card by stamping and white heat embossing a sentiment from the Be Her Stamp Set onto a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of pool cardstock. I then finished the card by adhering the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base and then adhered the stitched heart.

The Stitchable Pinking Oval Card is not too different. I wanted to create a mandala sort of look, so I started in the center with pink, created a symmetrical design and then moved onto the next color with a slightly different symmetrical design.

And like the previous card, once I finished stitching I then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Be Her Stamp Set onto a pool panel. I then adhered the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base and then adhering my stitched circle.

If you like these two cards Nina actually created patterns based off of these cards and you can find them here!

Next up is a couple of Christmas cards I created with the holiday Stitchable dies. My first card features the Stitchable Sweater Die.

To create this card I first created my design on the sweater. I then ink blended the sweater with Candied Apple Distress Ink and then stitched it. Next, I created the reindeer by diecutting two reindeers out of white cardstock with the Be a Reindeer Die. I then trimmed off the neck on one and trimmed off everything except the forehead on the second. I then ink blended the reindeer with several Distress Oxides (Antique Linen, Worn Lipstick, Black Soot, Frayed Burlap, & Tea Dye).

Once I finished I then adhered the forehead on top of the reindeer and with a piece of tape inlaid the eyes and nose. Next, I die cut a strand of lights and light bulbs using the Holiday Lights Die Set. I first ink blended the strand of lights with Lucky Clover Distress Oxides. I then ink blended the bulbs with Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides. I then adhered the bulbs onto the strand and then adhered the strand to the reindeer.

Next, I added two layers of foam adhesive to the backside of the reindeer and then added him to the front of a pool slimline panel which I stamped with a sentiment from the 2-Step Christmas Stamp Set. I then adhered the panel to the front of a slimline card base and then finished the card by adhering the stitched sweater.

My next Christmas card features the Stitchable Beanie Die.

First, I die cut the beanie out of heavy weight white cardstock. I then sketched out the design and when I liked what I had come up with I then stitched the hat with red and white thread. Next, I adhered a red pom pom to the top of the hat and then set it aside.

Next, I created the background by first die cutting several holly leaves and berries with the Holiday Lights die. I then ink blended the leaves with Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles Distress Oxide. I then Copic colored the berries and then adhered the berries onto the top of the leaves.

I then adhered an A2 panel of patterned paper from the Half-Half Enchanted Dots Paper Pad onto an A2 top-folding white card base. I then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Classic Holiday Stamp Set onto the card front. I then finished the card by adhering the holly berries and the beanie to the card front.
