Hero Arts August My Monthly Hero Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hello friends!!! It’s time for another My Monthly Hero release!! I truly appreciate this month’s staycation theme. Since a lot of us staying close to home I think this kit is a wonderful reminder that even though we may not be able to take that summer vacation with the right mind set our homes can be a wonderful escape as well.

August My Monthly Hero KitMH0820Contents:

  • 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set
  • 23 Coordinating Frame Cuts
  • 1 Greetings Fancy Die
  • 5 White Postcards
  • Summer Twilight Palette Reactive Ink Pad

Today I have a couple of cards to share that combine the several images from the August My Monthly Hero kit with some for one of the add-on sets.

To create these cards I first stamped several images from the August My Monthly Hero Kit as well as images from the Camp Mi Casa in INTENS-ified Black Ink onto Bristol paper. Once I finished stamping the image I then watercolored them in with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. Next, I die cut them images out with the matching dies and then set them aside.

I then moved onto creating the backgrounds. I placed two leaf stamps from the kit onto an acrylic block and repeated stamped the front of an A2 top-folding card base made from Meadow or Antique Ivory cardstock.

For the meadow card base I stamped the leaves in Pine Bold Ink and used Soft Vanilla for the ivory card.

Next, I trimmed down vellum to create two panels and then stamped sentiments from the Camp Mi Casa stamp set in INTENS-ified Black Ink and then heat embossed them with black detail embossing powder.

Next, I added foam adhesive to the back side of the images and then adhered them onto the vellum panels. Lastly, I used Precision Glue to adhere the panels onto the card fronts.
