Interactive Card: Penguin Slider

Interactive Card: Penguin Slider

Hello crafty friends!!! I have a super fun and adorable interactive card to share! In today’s video I will create my own DIY slide with the super cute Wanna Build a Snowman Stamp Set from Heffy Doodle!! I will also share some other ways to use a stencil beyond just ink blending!

Interactive Card: Penguin Slider

Watch below on on my Youtube channel.

First, I traced a couple snow banks in pencil using the First Snow Stencil onto an A2 panel of 110lb white cardstock. I then stamped images from the Wanna Build a Snowman Stamp Set onto the panel in Memento Tuxedo Black. Next, I fussy cut out my snow banks. I then trace along the top of the snow banks onto a A2 card base. Next, I ink blended a background with Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink and stopping my blending just past my traced line. Once I finished my ink blending I then splattered some water to create look of falling snow. When the panel was dry I then stamped my sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black.

Next, I stamped another penguin onto a scrap of white cardstock and then colored it as well as the other images with my copies. Once colored I die cut the penguin on the scrap out with the matching die and then moved onto creating the channel for my slider.

I used the First Snow Stencil to help me trace two parallel lines that matched the slope of the snow drift. I then cut along those lines with a craft knife to create the channel. I then erased the pencil lines on the panel and then ink blended the snow drifts with the First Snow Stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Next, I added foam tape to the backside of my panel and adhered it to the front of my card, making sure to pop a penny in between the layers before I pressed it down. I then attached a small rectangle of foam tape to the top of the penny and then stuck down the die cut penguin.

And that’s it!! I hope you enjoyed my card and video!! Thank you so much for stopping by!!
