Layton’s Legacy

Layton’s Legacy

Hello friends! Today I have a very special project to share. Today I am participating in a fundraiser and card drive created Lea Lawson in honor of her sweet son Layton Caleb.

Layton’s Legacy is raising money to purchase $50 Starbucks gift card for all 50 beds in the level 4 NICU at the U of M Masonic Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. to honor Layton’s memory and to give a small comfort to parents who find themselves thrust into NICU life. Fundraising will run from October 15th – November 10th. You can read more about this Lea’s story and about this incredible fundraiser here. If you wish to donate please follow the link here.

Also, Lea and Pinkfresh Studio has created a very special stamp set the geared towards the loss of pregnancies, babies & children. This set is called Forever in Our Hearts.

This heartfelt set had me tearing up when I was reading through the sentiments and the butterfly illustrated by Inna Moreva, is absolutely stunning!! In addition, Pinkfresh will be donating $5 from every stamp set sale to the Layton’s Legacy fundraising efforts.

I couldn’t resist doing some no-line coloring with this set. First, I stamped the butterfly in Antique Linen Distress Ink onto Bristol paper. Next, I watercolored the image in with Tombow Dual Brush Pens (946, 020, 620, 947, N15, 555, 443).

Once I finished watercoloring the image I diecut it out with the matching die. Next, I adhered a 4.125″ x 5.375″ panel of cream cardstock onto an A2 top-folding card base. I then stamped a sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black and then adhered the butterfly with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed! Thank you so much for stopping by!
