Waffle Flower Crafts August Release

Waffle Flower Crafts August Release

Hello all and thanks for joining us in Waffle Flower’s August Release Blog Hop!! This is such an incredible release with so many innovative and beautiful products and I have a lot of cards to share so let’s dive right in!!

First up is these two cards that I created with the new Color Swatches Stamp Set!

Not only did I use this set to create the backgrounds but I also used it to create a glazing chart which helped me pick a wonderful Distress Ink palette! To see the whole process please check out the video below.

Glazing Chart with Distress Inks & 2 Cards

Watch below or on my YouTube Channel.

Next up is a couple of cards I created with the new Adventures Stamp Set!

This is such a fun stamp set! Kamo’s illustrations are so enchanting and gestural and the intentionally leafless tree allows you to use whatever coloring technique of your choice to adorn it!

For this card I chose to use ink smooshing with Distress Inks to create the leaves. You can check out the video tutorial over at Simon Says Stamp!

Next up is an autumn version of this card with the Adventures Stamp Set.

For this card I used a really fun spray bottle technique to create the leaves.

I will have a video coming soon on this technique, so stay tuned! 😉

Last up is a group of cards I created with the new Lacy Flower XL Die and a few simple watercolor techniques! I will only briefly describe how I created these cards because I will also have a tutorial video

For these two cards I created two simple graded washes using my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I used only a single color for each card.

I used one graded wash as a background for the card on the left but die cut the second wash with the Lacy Flower XL Die for the card on the right.

The sentiments are from the Adventures Stamp Set.

For this card I created a graded wash with 2 colors. I then adhered a white Lacy Flower onto the wash and then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Adventures Stamp Set.

For these last two cards I played with a couple wet on wet techniques and created 2 panels.

I die cut one with the Lacy Flower XL Die and adhered it to an A2 top-folding card base. For the second panel, I die cut the Lacy Flower XL Die from mirrored gold and adhered it to the side of the panel.

I trimmed off the excess and then glued the remaining portions to the panel and trimmed again. I then finished the card with a gold embossed sentiment on black cardstock.

  16. What a wonderful assortment of awesome cards. I especially love the way your colored the leaves in the trees on both cards. Great job!

  17. Love all your cards. I guess great minds think alike because I envisioned something similar to your patterned paper when I first saw the stamp set. Not to worry, I have a couple of other ideas in mind that I have not seen on any of the blogs yet.

  18. That flower is my favorite!! Love all the ways you used it today. Gorgeous! All of your cards are gorgeous and I love how you used the ‘swatch’ products differently.

NOW, to get some of these educational tools for myself! LOL I HAVE BEEN thinking along the same lines lately, learning more about COLOR! 😉 THANK YOU CHANNIN!!!! SUPER VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!

  29. OMGG ! You seem to have had tons of fun creating so many vibrant, fun cards, which are amazing ! Thanks for the two video cards, I’ve learnt so much from your video today, glazing to me was the thing you painted on top of the colour cost of your mail varnish. Really enjoyed seeing your work, thanks.

  30. Fantastic ideas for stamp/die sets! Love to swatch and play but hate to create those charts or color wheels. This is awesome!

  31. I learned something new today, which is always exciting. I have never heard of glazing, and never thought to do it at least on purpose. Thank you so much. Your cards, as well as these stamps sets, are both amazing. I can’t wait to play with them.

  32. Your cards are lovely! The new swatch set looks great! It is sure nice to see that it can also be used for more than swatches!

  33. Your cards are vibrant and beautiful and I’m thinking I need better color swatches for my watercolors to help me in choices. I have swatches for my colors, but they are not good and mostly stay in the drawer! 🙂 These swatch stamps are very clever and i think would help in creating better cards!

  34. Oh my you picked the perfect colors for making plaid cards. Now, what can I say about the Lacey die is I need to buy it.

  35. Oh, Lovely cards! I love how just changing up that background colors changes the whole look! Beautiful!

Every card is so colorful & I love how you used my favorite color in the whole wide world, yellow. I am loving how colorful all your cards are & how creative they all are.
Thank you for showing us your colorful cards & for giving us the chance to win something.

  37. All of your cards are beautiful!! Love the way you used the swatch chart and how it looks like a very colorful plaid and how completely different you made the tree look. Gorgeous!

    on all the lovely cards.
    The last few with the
