2018-05-Blog-Hop

Hello everyone!! It’s that wonderful time of the month!! Time for a new Waffle Flower Crafts Release!! Wahoo!!

Welcome to the Waffle Flower Crafts’ May Release Blog Hop! I have a ton of projects that I can’t wait to share with you all so let’s get started!! 😁

First I have an overview video of the entire May release with all my samples.

Waffle Flower Crafts May Release

Watch below or on my YouTube channel.

First up is the adorable new set illustrated by Big Bear and Bird, Salty Kisses!!

This is such a great set for wedding cards, including engagements or bridal showers, or even anniversaries! For my first card with this set I created a windowed trifold card.

Salty Kisses Trifold Card

Watch below or on my YouTube channel.

I used a die from the A2 Nested Domes Die Set to create the opening on 2 A2 side folding card bases.

I then stamped and copic colored several images from the Salty Kisses Stamp Set and then die cut them out with the matching dies.

I then glued the two card bases together to create the trifold card and then added the die cuts. On the inside panel, I stamped the beach scene and sentiment and then colored the images in with my copics as well.

Next is this simpler card, where I watercolored all the images.

First, I stamped the images and sentiment onto Canson cold press watercolor paper. I then colored all the images in using my set of Gansi Tambi watercolors.

The last thing I did was splatter some of the brown and tan paint over the sand.

Next up is sweet and whimsical set illustrated by the amazing Helen Dardik, Let Love Grow.

I stamped the two strawberry sprites and a butterfly from the Let Love Grow Stamp Set in VersaFine Onyx Black on watercolor paper. I then watercolored the images with Distress inks; Candied Apple, Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Lucky Clover, Crushed Olive, and Cracked Pistachio and then die cut them with the matching dies.

I then die cut grass/hill with the Scenery Die from green card stock. I then ink blended Lucky Clover at the top and stamped my sentiment at the bottom.

Next, I ink blended WFC Tickled Pink at the top of an A2 panel and then created a pull tab using the Pull Tabs Die. Lastly, I adhered my panel onto my A2 card base, adhered one of the sprites to the Pull Tab, and then adhered the grass/hill and the rest of the images with foam tape.

Next up is a new layering flower stamp set, Carnations!

This is a beautiful set! And these large blooms with make designing your layout a breeze!

First, I stamped the outline of flowers and sentiment from the Carnations Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. I then stamped the layers in WFC Tickled Pink, WFC My Pleasure, and Candied Apple Distress Oxide. I used Memento Bamboo Leaves and Pear Tart for the stems. I then die cut the flowers out with the matching dies and fussy cut the sentiment out.

To create the background, I ink blended Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers at the lower right corner and then stamped the floral sprig a couple of time in Distress Ink Peacock Feathers.

Next up is the awesome Rain or Shine Combo Set and Sunshine Stamp Set!!

First up is a fun shaker card that I made with the Sun Shine Panel Die and the Sunshine Stamp Set.

A video for this card is actually up over at Simon Says Stamp Blog. So please head over there to check out the video and to get all the details.

For my second card, I stamped a background using the Rain Check Stamp Set (apart of the Rain or Shine Combo Set) in WFC You Said What and WFC Oh Happy Day onto a top-folding cardbase. I used generation stamping to get a greater range of tones. I then used the Sun Shine Panel Die to die cut a panel from white cardstock and white craft foam.

Next I stamped some rays in the same WF inks I used for the background and then stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black onto the front of the Sun Shine Panel. I then glued the panel to the craft foam panel and then glued them onto the stamped card front. Lastly I added clear sequins in between the rays.

Next up is the beautiful Always Set, illustrated by Flora Walcott.

I love this set!! The images are so so lovely and it is such a great set for coloring!!

First I die cut an A2 panel using the largest die from the A2 Nesting Rectangles 1 Die Set. I then die cut another panel using the Sun Shine Panel Die out of 110lb cardstock. I then used this panel as a stencil and ink blended Distress inks, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch onto the Stitched Panel. To finish the background, I splattered some watered-down Black Soot and stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black. Next I stamped several images from the Always Stamp Set onto Canson Cold Press Watercolor paper in Versamark and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I then watercolored all the images in with watered down Distress Inks (Rusty Hinge, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, Candied Apple, Cracked Pistachio, & Lucky Clover).

Once the images had dried I die cut them out with the matching dies and then adhered the panel to an A2 top-folding card base and adhered the die cuts with foam tape.

For this next card, I followed a similar process but used different inks and used the no-line coloring technique for all the images. I used Distress Oxides Abandoned Coral and Wild Honey for the background. I stamped the sentiment in Distress Oxide Salty Ocean.

I stamped the girl and leaves in Distress Ink Tattered Rose and watercolored her with watered down Distress inks (Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, Salty Ocean, and Blueprint Sketch).

For my final card with this set I stamped the flowers and leaves in Distress Ink Antique Linen onto an A2 panel of watercolor paper. I then watercolored the images in with a Daniel Smith watercolor set created by the amazing Lydia (thank you!!). Once I had finished painting the background I adhered it to an A2 top-folding card base.

Next I stamped the bird and an additional flower onto a scrap of watercolor paper, watercolored them as well, and die cut them out with the matching dies. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Hero Arts Blue Cornflower and Simon Says Blue Violet onto a strip of cardstock then adhered it and the die cuts onto an the card front with foam tape.

Last but definitely not least is the new set by Liz Mylinger, Sweet Ice Cream.

This set is so darling and even though this card is similar to one I made for the spring release, I just couldn’t resist creating a little ice cream shop scene with the Apartment Builder Die.

First I die cut a panel using the A2 Grid Panel Die. I then die cut all my shop elements with the Apartment Builder Die. I then adhered these die cuts to the grid panel. I then stamped, copic colored, and die cut several images from the Sweet I’ve Cream Stamp Set.

Next I ink blended WF You Said What to and A2 Panel then adhered the shop front to the panel with foam tape. Lastly, I added the colored images, cut with the matching dies, to the scene.
