Hello everyone!! I’m so excited to share the card I made for the Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop. Here is the gorgeous inspiration artwork.
The artist is Izziyana Suhaimi and she combines embroidery, which I have always loved and have dabbled in myself, with paper which of course I’m have an intimate relationship with. So it’s no surprise I was greatly inspired by her work. And without further ado here’s my card.
First, I created the image using my cricut and cut out the different elements in colors similar to her work. I then tried to create the look of embroidery by coloring over the paper elements with similar shades of prismacolor pencils in linear fashion.
When I was finished I glued it all together and adhered it to a gray 5″ by 7″ panel of cardstock then glued it to my card base. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment which is from PTI’s Inside & Out Thank You stamp set in navy ink on a strip of white cardstock.
I then mounted it on craft foam and adhered it to my card. I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!

Such a clever take on the inspiration photo – I couldn’t work out what you’d done until I read your post. Those lines really do look like embroidery stitches!
